And now on to other things

Well, since my month-long mental anguish has finally subsided (thanks Janie, Gabrielle), I can finally get back into random stories from the past and, of course, the wish list items (of which there are many!). Since I’m short on time today, I’ll have to put off the next story in line until next week (hopefully). Today, you just get a wish list item.

All of the pointers that I read seem to suggest that the most critical part of passing occurs from the shoulders up; basically, the rest of your body is irrelevant if you don’t look confident and comfortable enough up top to be convincing. Fair enough, but how is a girl supposed to get on without some curves? I think it’s time to add a padded panty to the wish list.

I found a message board conversation where someone was saying that most padded panties place hip padding too high for crossdressers, basically that they are meant to supplement already existing feminine hips. They had suggested the Classic Curves, a company that fabricates custom-sized body-enhancers specifically for the transgendered. Their enhancers place the hip padding lower, near the top of the leg, for more realistic results. Of course, they are not cheap and thusly well out of my budget.

And so, I turn to the usual suspects, but still just don’t feel really great about any of the products, even from the more reputable places. So I search again, and find the Bubbles Bodywear and Feel Foxy websites. After cruising around and reading some reviews on each website, I’ve noticed that people generally air concerns about four-pad enhancers, saying that they look too bumpy and show through too clearly. A big plus of one of the products from the Bubbles wesite is that it’s only got two pads, each wrapping around from rear to side for a smoother look.

So, from the Bubbles Bodywear website, I hearby add “The Hipee Brief Padded Panty” (picture below) to my wish list. Of course, this particular item is considerably more affordable than some other things on the list and may end up in my wardrobe not too far down the road!

I Wish: A flattering dress or two

Time to add a bit more to the wish list…

I cruised around the Old Navy, Forever 21, and Sears websites a bit this morning. I’ve got two dresses in the wardrobe at home, but just always felt that neither of them were really doing anything for me. Of course, I’m dealing with my not-so-feminine, absolute lack of curves, so my two curve-hugging dresses expose my bodily flaws quite easily. You may remember a while back that I purchased two different body shapers, waist cinchers to be exact, to help me achieve some semblance of an hourglass shape. However, even when wearing one of them, I’ve still got to kind of “suck it in” for them to work; not exactly a comfortable thing to do for a few hours when I’m lounging around.

I find myself particularly drawn to empire waist and A-line dresses for the obvious reasons. An empire waist will gather the dress in just below my bust and allow it to free-fall from there, while the A-line will drape down from the shoulders. Best of all, both styles will hide my figure but still give a playful and sexy look. So here are a few of the dresses that particularly caught my eye:

My favorites, you ask? Well, the gray empire waist dress on the far left, the floral A-line dress fourth in line, and well I know it’s off topic a bit, but the maxi all the way at the end. There’s just something about a maxi dress that I like… though I wish it had some cap sleeves or something.

A minor milestone

So, my blog just passed 500 hits over the weekend! Yay for me! I wonder if there is anyone out there who reads this regularly. I don’t really worry about it that much because I’m here just to write what’s on my mind about crossdressing, but I guess the thought that there are people out there reading about something I’ve kept so secret is kind of exciting. It’s some sort of voyeuristic desire I think… It’s not new for me, but I’ll leave those few stories for later.

For now, since I’m getting ready to head to bed, I’ll just add another item to the wish list…

I’d really love to have a wig someday. Of course, there are all sorts of issues I need to work out before that ever happens. It would be wise for me to just either tell my girlfriend about my crossdressing, or at least find a top-notch place to hide a wig on a stand somewhere in our small apartment. Next, well, I have no idea what to get. I’ve found a few pointers online about material, color, length, and style with respect to the shape of your head/face and what works best. But still, I’d love to be able to walk into either a wig shop or salon and actually have the confidence to ask someone who probably knows the answer.

Based on my own taste and thoughts, as well as the pointers I’ve read, these are just a few of the wigs that I liked and think might work well from wigs.com. So I guess I’ll just have to keep wishing about these for now…

I Wish: Hayden Platform Slingback

You are hereby subjected to my first “WishList” post. Here, as you can imagine, you’ll find various postings highlighting clothing, shoes, toys, etc., that for various reasons, I will probably never be able to have. While my wardrobe is currently acceptable (I guess), that does not change the fact that there is just so much out there that I wish I could have.

So, found at Payless ShoeSource (my favorite!), this is the Hayden Platform Slingback shoe. It’s got a flirty squared peep toe and an adjustable slingback over a 4″ heel with a 3/4″ platform.

Though my affinity with high heels remains, the sad fact is that there are only so many places I can hide size 12 high heels in my apartment before my girlfriend finds one of them by accident. So for now, I’m going to have to be content with my Dexter Mayflower Buckle Pumps that I got a few months ago.
